Series: This Place

I started this series in my home studio during the Christmas lockdown of 2020. Frustrated, I took to my kitchen to draw on anything I had available: scraps of canvas, paper, stretched canvases. I worked until my emotions had emptied onto the floor in front of me.

 

I was confused by what I saw. Boxes tethered together. Some hanging, some connected, some floating. Could this represent us now? Stuck in our lonely worlds, holding onto those closest to us by a thread?

 

The paintings from the series flowed out of me, changing from one day to the next and these landscapes appeared.
